Hi everyone! For those of you who don’t know me personally, I wanted to share a little bit about myself and why I started this blog. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, just ten minutes outside of Washington, D.C. I lived there the majority of my life and despite both of my parents working in politics on Capitol Hill, I never got too into it (sorry Mom & Dad). I wanted to expand my horizons during college and move somewhere entirely new, so ended up at the University of Pittsburgh (#h2p #h2hems). I absolutely loved Pittsburgh and made some of my very best friends in college, but again wanted a change after living there for four years.
After college, I moved back to Virginia for two years, married my high school sweetheart, and lived in D.C. for the first year after we were married. We got a dog – once a 17 pound, now 110 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback – and named him Lincoln (fitting for living in D.C.) and I won’t deny that we are completely obsessed with him and might go out of our way on a daily basis to make him extra happy. Fast forward and our little family is now living in Austin, TX (we’re not antsy about moving or anything), I am the founder and owner of my online boutique called Sugar & Spice Apparel, and we are over the moon about our recent move and starting a new life here.
While I am loving my new endeavor of owning my own business, I wanted something more than having an online store. I double majored in English Writing & Communications in college, so figured a blog would be a great side hobby in addition to my full-time job! I hope to cover a variety of topics but will mainly focus on fashion, things to do in Austin, lifestyle and travel. I’ve already gotten a lot of questions from girls who are also interested in starting their own online boutique, so I hope to cover topics related to that here, as well! Since this is my first time blogging, I’m going to be learning a lot as I go, so bare with me. Feel free to ask questions or offer topic suggestions, as I love feedback and getting to know new people! I’m super excited to get started, so please stay tuned for weekly posts and feel free to subscribe if you want to learn more.
Cheers!
Liz
